What We Do

Over the next 18 months, we will educate the individuals in the program with independent living skills by providing the trainings over a specified period as well as assisting with education, employment, and a place of their own at the end.

 

The trainings will include:

 

Computer Training:  Individual will be trained in the usage of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Access), and depending on their skill level some possible accounting software such as Quicken or Quickbooks.

 

Money Management: Individual will be shown how to write checks, balance checkbooks, budget funds and will open their own checking account.  

 

Time Management: Individuals will be shown how to micro manage their time for their tasks at work and how to apply that same skill to their daily activities at home.

 

Entreprenuer Workshops: Workshops will be outsourced for Entrepreneuership

 

Independent living Training:  Individuals will be shown how to pay bills, shop for groceries, prepare healthy meals, and maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

 

Individuals will also work for BOI Inc. on a volunteer basis as mentors to youth to provide a insightful perspective of the life they have lived, choices that they have made that put them in the position they are in, and assist the youth from making similar mistakes.

 

Upon successful completion of the program, Individuals will gain assistance in acquiring their own apartment upon which support services will continue to be provided for a period of time.
